Double sided printing in Safari not working all the time

Half the time when I go to print and want double sided, I can't select it because it's grayed out.

Why is this doing this and how do I fix it?

iMac 27″, macOS 13.3

Blank preview page when printing from Safari. When I print from Safari I get a blank preview page. Then I print anti prints a blank page. I hit cancel and the page pops up in a new TAB then and only then I can print as usual. Note that this happens on sites like eBay, and Wix shipping options. When I try to print I cannot get the screen to advance to allow printing to take place. When I go to print after loading Ventura the print screen page will not advance to allow me to print. Also I have to force quit Safari to get out of the print screen page.

Safari can't print from Apple discussions Has anyone noticed that web browsers can't print from these discussions ? I get this: There should be text in the greyed area. I have the same problem in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Also, there are many sites which Safari can't format properly for printing. For example, GitHub for which Safari prints the main text frame in a narrow column. Or, is this a "feature" of Apple Discussions ?

I deleted the printer and added it back and it works fine, what a pain...
