OS Ventura (13.1) and no scan with HP475dw on iMac M1

Hi! Have just purchased a new iMac which is operating Ventura 13.1 and have been using an HP475dw for 8 years with my old iMac. However, when using the Printers and Scanners app in Ventura, I can see the scan option when I first load the printer but if the screen 'sleeps' for any period of time the scan function pop-up window remains blank and the scan symbol in the Print Queue screen is greyed out. I have to remove and then re-install the printer each time which is not ideal. I do have visibility of the scan screen in image capture at all times though. I accept the 2 work arounds but please can someone tell me how I get all the scan functionality I had on my old iMac operating OS Monterey!

Have you tried downloading the latest HP Drivers and/or contacting HP for support?

You mention Screen Sleep. Set "Computer Sleep to Never" and "Turn Off Screen after 10 or 15 minutes"

FWIW I've used Image Capture for over 20 year and prefer using it over the manufactures scan-ware.

Thanks for the advice. Downloaded HP Easy Scan app and all worked fine. Am just used to working with the Apple system settings printer/scanner app as I have been using that for 8 years without any issues.

Have downloaded the latest HP Drivers as you suggest via the link. HP Support did not have any answers after nearly 2 hours on the phone with them. Pointed me to Apple who pointed me back to HP!!! Unfortunately, this did not work either as the scan page does not load after a sleep or re-start and scan function is greyed out in printer queue screen. Am at a loss as the what is going on and suspect drivers are not Ventura compatible
