Unplayed episodes from some podcasts are not appearing in my Up Next section within Apple Podcasts for shows I’m subscribed to. This seems to be a regression with iOS 16. Still unresolved as of 16.1.2. Will Apple fix this?
I set my podcasts show episode order to ‘oldest to newest’ as I expect most people would do. If you choose ‘newest to oldest’ the episodes appear. Completely annoying, and I think they should change the product manager.

Same thing has been happening to me since upgrading to iOS 16. Still unresolved as of iOS 16.2. I have tried un- and resubscribing to podcasts, and deleting and redownloading Apple Podcasts. Nothing has worked.
