Random periods while typing.

This question is mine too, and the answers didn't address the problem.

Periods - Apple Community

As I type on my laptop, periods appear mid sentence, after single words. I have checked keyboard preferences, and all is set correctly.

The suggestion was to ensure substituting double spaces wasn't checked. It's occurring within sentences randomly, after letters that are nowhere near the period. Never happened before Ventura.
