Mail search not working

We'd like to rule out some possible causes, along with better understanding what's happening:

1. You mentioned when typing something into the search field within Mail on your Mac, it doesn't show anything, but does the same thing occur after you finish typing into the search field, then press the Return key on your Mac keyboard?
2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
