audible not connecting to airplay/homepod mini

As above. Homepod mini automatically plays a track from apple music app but in Audible (and other apps) it won't connect to Homepod and on "connect to device" it comes up with "airplay/bluetooth" but the link to Homepod doesn't work. Selecting "Airplay" doesn't do anything also. Tried a couple of re-installs but the same problem. Siri say's she can't help with this. There's nothing useful on the Home app either. Anyone else had the same problem?

Hello Joe,

First, make sure Audible is correctly downloaded to your companion device and a blue to be played normally. Then check the steps in this article which might help: Play audio on HomePod using an iOS or iPadOS device - Apple Support.

Also, if your HomePod isn't responding as expected, try a reset too: If HomePod mini or HomePod isn't responding - Apple Support.
