Windows 11 x Airpods Pro (Stereo Quality Disappeared)

Hello everyone!

I have a problem with my Airpods Pro and Windows 11.

The problem is once I pair them with my laptop with Windows 11, I am only allowed to use them as Hands-Free (for calls and videocalls) however no music or video knows Airpods for output. This happened after an update in August 2022 and now I cannot turn back.

I cannot even change the quality of the audio because whenever I try to disable Hands-Free feature, I do not hear any sound.

Is there a way to solve this?

Hello and thanks for the message. You might be right but I already have an open ticket on Windows support forum. I also want to ask people on here as it is important for more people to see my issue. And there is no update granted from Windows forum yet.

Thanks

aligokvs,

Thanks for following up with us. We did want to bring attention to this resource, which may shed some light on this: Set up AirPods with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices - Apple Support

The features of your AirPods might be limited, depending on the Bluetooth device that they're connected to.

While it may still be best to check in with Microsoft as you have, this could also be normal behavior as AirPods features will vary as mentioned above. If you'd like, you can always submit feedback on this using the following link: Apple Support

Kind regards.

Hello aligokvs,

If your AirPods are not working properly, you can try resetting them with these steps:

  1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
  4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
    • If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
    • If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.

5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.

6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*

7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.
