Keyboard shortcut to insert text box

Is there a keyboard shortcut to insert a text box in Keynote for Mac?

This is very basic and yet I couldn't find a keyboard shortcut for it.

Unable to enter text in Keynote Hi This is really bizarre. I'm trying to use Keynote for the first time. I created a new file and I've been editing the slide layouts so that I have something that will be suitable for my purposes. Okay, so now I find I am unable to enter text in any text box in Keynote. I cannot enter text in a "placeholder" type of text box where it says "Double click to edit". I cannot enter text in a text box I introduce onto the slide. I cannot enter text into a text box defined in the "Appearance" part of the format pane on the right. I cannot do any of this in my own Keynote file, nor can I do it in any other keynote file. If I uses command-N then select a template at random and open it I am unable to type text into any of the predefined areas for that. What actually happens is that I put the insertion point in the text box and then nothing happens. I type, but not text appears. There is no problem typing text in any other program on my MacBook Air. How do I prevent Keynote textbox from moving upward? Hello community. Is it possible to lock a text box position in Apple Keynote while keeping the text editable? One of the issues I have with Apple Keynote is that when I type in a text box and do carriage returns, the text box moves upward. I just want it to stay in place and have the text box expand downward. I can't find a setting for this. Keynote 12.2.1

Keynote 13.2, Shift+Enter no longer works. Hey folks, My Keynote, along with Numbers and Pages, got a fresh update to the latest version (13.2 on macOS 13.6) and now I can't do a soft line break in all of them. I did some digging and guess what, back in the day (around 2009), it used to be Control+Enter, and believe it or not, it's back to that now! I mean, across all other apps like Notes and TextEdit and MS Office it works as it used to. It's driving me nuts because I have to retrain my brain to use Control instead of Shift, and it's on the opposite side of the keyboard. I've tried to remove it and install back, but it didn't work. I'm not holding my breath for Apple to fix this anytime soon. Does anyone know how to roll back to the previous Keynote version, 13.1? Thanks!

There isn't a keyboard shortcut for text box.

I suggest that you familiarize yourself with Keynote's reserved keyboard shortcuts. Then, your choice of a unique shortcut will not conflict with the application.
