Hello, emails that I delete from my inbox now reappear after a few moments, both on my laptop and on my phone. Tried turning computer and phone off and on, had no effect. Tried 'rebuild', had no effect. I'm worried about disconnecting and reconnecting my account because I'm not sure what consequences that action would have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is the issue only occurring with a specific mail account or any added to your devices? Also, check your settings to ensure the mailbox behavior is set to delete and not archive. The guide here can assist: Change Mailbox Behaviors settings in Mail on Mac

If the issue remains, provide more information about the type of account this is (for example, IMAP or POP), and if the behavior continues when deleting messages from your email provider's website, rather than within the Mail app itself.
