AppleTV app on Roku - Up Next section is not up to date with other devices.

We have an AppleTV 4K in family room. The Up Next section is up to date with whatever we were watching in whatever app. But the AppleTV app on a Roku in another room is not up to date. If I fire up the TV app on my iPad or iPhone … it is up to date. Same app on Roku is not. All are signed into same account.

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities. We want to help make sure your viewing history and progress are being synced between all of your devices.


We would recommend that you see if your Roku has a strong, stable Wi-Fi connection. This will be important in allowing the app to connect with the servers required to keep the TV app up to date. You may consider disconnecting the Wi-Fi and reconnecting your Roku to that network. Another good troubleshooting step would be to uninstall the TV app and re-download it on the Roku, as well.


If the issue continues to occur and it's only happening on your Roku, then we would recommend getting in touch with them. They are going to be the experts in their hardware and so they may have some additional steps you can try to ensure everything is connecting to the Internet and working as expected. Since the issue isn't affecting your Apple TV 4K or the iPad/iPhone, it seems like something with the Roku may need to be adjusted.
