Microphone quiet with new iPhone CARPLAY

Hello, I’ve recently upgraded my phone to an iPhone 14 Pro latest IOS from a 12 Pro.

My issue is in the car the new iPhone whilst connected to Carplay in a BMW is very quite and the other side barely can hear me. I still have my 12 Pro and that works fine (old IOS). Is this a common issue as I don’t want to update my old phone if it’s an IOS fault.

if I turn the phone to speaker the microphone is fine. Please help as I’m not able to use my new phone till this is fixed
