Magic Keyboard (used with MBA) suddenly creating two characters for number keys
Hello,
I am using an older (2018, I believe) Apple Magic Keyboard (via Bluetooth) with my (2022 / M2) MacBook Air. That external keyboard has been working fine for months, but suddenly, pressing certain keys will create two characters.
For example, pressing “q” or “1 will always produce “q1”.
Same with w/2, e/3, r/4, t/5, z/6, u/7, i/8, 0/9.
I have restarted the Mac, removed and re-established the Bluetooth connection, but to no avail.
Everything is fine with the MacBook Air’s internal keyboard.
Should I assume that something in the Magic Keyboard’s guts has died / been broken / rusted? Is there some (hehe) magic key combo one might try to reset it?
(This Magic Keyboard has no removable battery, so I don’t see what else I could try.)
Thanks!
