Mac M1 Pro 14” Screen is Foggy/Blurry

Hello,

I was just using my MacBook M1 Pro for an assignment and texting a friend on the Messages app when the screen suddenly went super foggy and I couldn’t see anything at all. Everything was still there, it was just incredibly blurry out of nowhere. I tried resetting it, and I can see what I think is the Apple logo but then it passes and then there’s nothing but a blurry screen that I can’t interact with at all. I also tried booting it into Safety Mode and resetting the PRAM but nothing happened. The laptop wasn’t plugged in to charge but it was still at half battery life.

I attached a photo of what the screen looks like when it’s booting up. Has anyone else experienced this and know what I can do? This is incredibly poor timing since I have three assignments due next week. I should also mention that I got this laptop in June so it’s not old at all.

Hello Jorcobus,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. There are a few steps we can try before looking at service. Let's give these a shot.

  1. Reset your SMC: Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support
  2. Try starting in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Log in normally after each of these and see if you get a normal looking screen. If you don't it looks like this may need to be serviced. To look at your service options, please reach out to Apple Support -

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
