Problems with Keynote presenter mode

I am using Keynote 12.2 on a MBP. I want presenter mode to show up on my laptop and NOT my optoma projector but that doesn't happen anymore. Presenter mode is on both screens or neither. This used to be easy to accomplish. What's going on? Very annoying to not be able to see what the next slide is but I can't seem to find a fix. Any help?

This happens when your System preference for displays is set to mirror, if so, click on the mirror option box to remove the tick mark.
