My MacBook Pro, 16 from 2019, does not connect anymore to a Panasonic TV via HDMI after the upgrade to Ventura.

Issue after upgrade to Ventura.

Is there anyway to reconnect the MacBook Pro 16 from 2019 with Ventura 13.0.1 to a Panasonic TV, TX-L39EW6W, via HDMI?

The HDMI proposal by Apple does not work.

Greetings ralf232,

To troubleshoot, test after reconnecting the HDMI cable to see if that clears up the issue. Check out that suggestion here: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry when connected to your Mac - Apple Support

Additionally, testing with a different HDMI cable can help see if the issue is related to the cable being used.

To further isolate the behavior, see if the issue persists when using a different user account on your Mac. Testing with a different user account can help see if the issue is system-wide. Check out how to create a new user account here: Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support

"Add a user

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
  3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
  4. For more information about the options for each type of user, click the Help button in the lower-left corner of the dialog.
  5. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
  6. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
  7. Click Create User."

Kind regards.

We appreciate you checking on that for us, Ralf,

Are you able to connect your TV via AirPlay? This article will show you how to do so: Use AirPlay to stream what’s on your Mac to an HDTV - Apple Support

1. Make sure your Mac and Apple TV are on the same network.
2. Click Control Center  in the menu bar, click the Screen Mirroring icon , then choose your Apple TV.
3. If asked, enter a four-digit code on your Mac.
4. To set whether your desktop mirrors or extends your Mac screen, click the Screen Mirroring icon , then choose Mirror Built-in Display or Use As Separate Display.

Is it that your TV doesn't see your Mac desktop? Is the display just blank?

Any specific details about the behavior you're experiencing can help us to isolate this behavior further.

We look forward to your reply.

Cheers!

ralf232, we considered that this may be a firmware update for your Panasonic TV. But when we searched Panasonic’s site, the page was having a few issues. We recommend contacting Panasonic Support to see if there’s one available: Contact US | Official Panasonic Store - Shop Panasonic Cameras Headphones Appliances Shavers Beauty products and More

If there isn’t an update available, let us know.

All the best.

A very similar problem to Ralf232. My MacBook 16 inch 2019 does not connect to a newish Panasonic TV via an HDMI cable (which has been tested ok) and the latest spec Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (A2119). MacBook is running Ventura 13.0.01 as Ralf232 and Panasonic does not connect via Airplay to the MacBook, which is why I need the HDMI connection. Before finding this post I had previously exhausted all the recommended actions, so strangely relieved to see its not just me. The only difference I can see with Ralf232 is that I hadn't previously tried the HDMI connection before the Ventura update.

So same question as gennaro49, any news from Apple?
