AirPods Pro 2nd Gen Noise Cancellation worse after latest firmware update

Hey,

Since the last firmware update the noise cancellation got worse on my 2nd Gen AirPods Pro. I have them for only two weeks, and first thought they were broken since I was out of a sudden able to hear voices and my mouse clicking which wasn’t the day before. I then discovered on Reddit that a lot of people have the same issue since last week.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Can we expect a bug fix to this soon?

Hi there Patrikur,

If Active Noise Cancellation isn't working as expected with your AirPods Pro, you'll want to start by working through these steps to see if they resolve the issue for you:

1. Make sure that you have the latest software on your connected iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
2. Put both AirPods Pro in your ears and check that Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is turned on.
3. Clean the mesh located on the top of your AirPods Pro. Sometimes Active Noise Cancellation can be affected if debris or earwax builds up in the area shown below.
If this happens, you might experience:
- A loss of bass sound
- An increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise

You'll find this information here: If Active Noise Cancellation isn't working as expected on your AirPods Pro - Apple Support

If that doesn't seem to help, you can check to see if your AirPods Pro are eligible for this repair program: AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues - Apple Support

Take care.

Hi and thank you for your response!

I worked myself through the site and couldn’t get a solution or contact. I have downloaded the support app as well and tried everything there, but the support cannot call me since my country code is not chooseable.

As being a software developer myself, and doing the right troubleshooting all evidence points to a software issue with the current firmware version. The reports from several other users with the exact same issue undermines this.

I actually do not want new devices or a refund or so, I just want them to work as they were before since I was extremely happy and do not want something else. If you could just get in contact with someone who is responsible or can forward it to a person that knows someone, not only I but also all other users would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance for your effort! :)
