Apple Music sample rate switching

This may fall on deaf ears as I feel as though this brought up a couple of times in the past, but does Apple have plans in a future OS update to switch audio sample rates automatically based on the music being played from the default 44.1kHz without having to use the built-in "Audio MIDI Setup" app?

Sample rate doesn’t change If I use my Mac book pro an switch to 96khz sampling and music is less than 96 it makes an upsampling instead of switching down on the usb output. mir I use my iPad or iPhone with lightning to usb I don’t get a higher sample rate than 44.1khz. Sample Rate for external usb audio device will not change when playing Hires Lossless Audio with apple music after IPadOS16 Update Hi, after the Update to the newest IPadOS Version, Apple Music will not change the sampling rate of an external Audio Device connected via USB-C, when a Hires Audio File is played. Before the update Apple Music changed sampling rates according to the recording of the music Track, now it always downsamples to 44kHz. I cross checked this with another IPad audio player app, which also plays Hi-Res Audio Files, which changes sampling rate according to the file properties, even if the same Hardware, Cable etc is used. So it seems to be an issue in Apple Music not IPadOS 16. Is there a way to work around this issue?

Exclusive mode on Mac, users still waiting for a fix Apple Music for MacOS doesn’t have an exclusive mode like iOS does, and other streaming apps like Tidal and Amazon Music on macOS. So for Apple Music, the audio output format is set in Audio MIDI Setup in macOS. But this is set so, if you pick 16/44 but play a 24/96 song, it will downsample it on macOS. Changing Audio MIDI Setup for each song is impossible. Plug ins and doohickies for macOS that kind of do this, just do not work as well as an exclusive mode does. Exclusive mode just, does it. For each song. The end. This has been an issue for Music on Macs for years now. Really, the best solution is for Apple to fix it. So be sure to let Apple know on the Feedback page. Feedback - Apple Music - Apple Please note that Apple also calls this Community a place for discussions to learn more about aspects of Apple products and services. I post this in that context, not asking for an answer, but providing insight. For which, right now, there are none. But do let Apple know in Feedback that you want Apple Music songs to play on macOS at the song's highest quality, automatically. Just like iOS does.
