New iCloud Terms and Conditions & Apple TV

I am being prompted in the middle of watching Netflix on my Apple TV to accept the new iCloud Terms and Conditions using a device signed into iCloud with my apple ID. Why can I not do this on my Apple TV? I absolutely refuse to activate iCloud on my iPhone and iPad to accept Terms and Conditions for something I am not using!

The terms were last revised on September 12, 2022 – almost 2 months ago. This must have been going on for some time.

Differences between the previous and the current version: Shared Photo Library is added as a specified service. UK is named as a non-EU country for governing law for its citizens.

Why can I not do this on my Apple TV?

As this is a user-to-user community, no one here can tell you why a particular feature isn't available.

I had the same issue on my Macs.

They were actually asking to validate new iCloud Terms and Conditions for a secondary Apple ID (not the one used for iCloud), I was using for media and email.

...and failing! And there was zero indication which account this was related to.

In order for these stupid notifications (1 every 30s) to go away, I had to log on to iCloud using that account.

The easiest way for me was to create a new user on a Mac and then log in to iCloud using the secondary account.

I could then validate the new iCloud terms and conditions for this account and the notifications on the Macs went away.

And I just deleted the new user from my Mac.

Hope this helps.
