Reclaiming erased clipper card on wallet

I recently got a new iPhone and erased my old phone (which included my clipper card in wallet). Clipper app says that there are available funds on the card and the card is not assigned to any phone. I tried a few times but I cannot add the clipper card to the new phone wallet since I never technically removed it from the old phone. Are those funds lost now or is there some other workaround? I checked iCloud and sadly the old phone is not there at all. Any feedback appreciated.

Greetings capatrick2200,

When attempting to add the Clipper card to the Wallet app, are you following the steps listed below? If not, you'll want to follow these steps as they're specific to adding transit cards. You can also find these steps outlined in the following article.

How to add a transit card on your iPhone
  1. "On your iPhone, open the Wallet app.
  2. Tap the Add button The add button.
  3. Tap Transit Card to add a new transit card or tap Previous Card to add a transit card that you previously added to the Wallet app.
  4. Choose a transit card from the list, or search by location or card name.
  5. Tap Continue.
  6. Choose an amount to put on the card and tap Add.2
  7. Follow the steps on the screen to confirm your purchase and add your transit card."
