What is the point of AirTag beeping when you’re not around?
If you’re obviously not with your AirTag, why would it beep? I’m literally not with it, so I can’t hear it alerting me to where it’s at. Wouldn’t it be more practical for my iPhone to alert me that I’m no longer with my AirTag (maybe it does do this, I’ve yet to use mine)? But either way. I understand for stalking purposes, if someone doesn’t know one is with them, but I thought that’s why they get an alert saying “an AirTag is moving with you”. This is so inconvenient. Ex: My son is constantly misplacing his chromebook for school, I got airtag to keep in his case so we can locate it when it’s idk, fallen behind the couch, left in the car, left in his desk at school, etc. So does this mean when I drop him off at school & I leave, his laptop is going to be randomly beeping in the middle of his fourth grade class? I was also going to attach one to our remote (since these kids can NEVER find the remote) so I could ping it and probably find it in a bag of old legos or something (my younger kids will put things in the most random places lol). But if I leave the house, the remote will be beeping for everyone til my return? Any advice before I decide to return them before opening? I think I might have to stick with the classic stick on paging devices.
