Viewing canon CR3 images on the ipad and iphone

I have the latest software installed on both devices. For the smaller sizes, when I tap on the image using the files app. It opens up and no problem. I noticed for the larger sizes of say 25 mb onwards, it opens up, flashes about 5 times and then closes.

Is there a limitation somewhere?

Hey there Peter,

While you may need to reach out to Canon regarding their format(CR3) and to check compatibility with your iPhone/iPad, we'd like to rule out some possible causes first:

The latest version for iPad and iPhone models is iPadOS 16.1 and iOS 16.1. If you have compatible models, are these the version numbers installed in each? You can check under Settings > General > About.
Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart your iPad
Do any error messages/numbers appear when you open 25MB or more CR3 photo after it flashes five times?
Does only the photo close itself, or does the Photos app crash when this occurs?
