I would like to make an appointment at a genius bar, I have made many attempts to update the computer and clean it up to no avail.

It would help if you explain what you mean by you got "stuck". What is happening when you try to make an appointment?
Do you have an iPhone? If so, download the Apple Support app and make an appointment through that.

Are you talking about updating the system software? Can I assume you're engaging in hyperbole when you say you think the only solution is to throw the computer away? Is your computer not functional? You might consider explaining your issues here. Perhaps someone would be able to give you some advice.
