Apple mail: blue dot remains
Since updating to iOS 16.1, the blue dot marking unread emails does not disappear when the email has been read. Very confusing. What to do?

That is a strange issue to occur in Mail on your iPhone, especially since you've already read unread emails. Since you mentioned this began since iOS 16.1 was installed, we wanted to rule out some other possible causes:
- Have you tried quitting out of Mail, then opening it a second time?
- Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
- Have you noticed other apps having issues with notifications?
