hard drive spontaneous disconnects

I have a WD Elements Desktop Hard Drive that has worked perfectly since its purchase. However, since upgrading to Mac OS Ventura this past week, the hard drive regularly (as in 4-5 times per day) disconnects from my Mac Mini. It has never done this before, so I tend to believe that the Ventura upgrade is responsible.

Any ideas?

One indicator of a failing drive is "spontaneous disconnects"

You can try a different drive and compare your results....

You can erase, reformat, initialize as new and try again...(?)
