Vat REFUND

Dear Team,

I recently purchased an iPhone 14 Pro through Apple store - online. And got the physical delivery picked from Central World, Bangkok, Thailand.

I am a tourist and I am eligible for a VAT refund. However, since I made this purchase through online platform of Apple, the physical store was not able to provide me the VAT refund. Hence it is an urnest request for you to provide me the VAT Refund (form pp10) immediately as I am travelling on Monday, 31st October 2022. Can share my passport details if needed.

I made a purchase of total 3 devices from Thailand, I got refund for two of my devices (as i purchased & paid in offline store).

However the third device I wanted, was a 1TB which was not available with any of the Apple Certified Store (iStudio, etc) & hence I was left with no option but to purchase from Apple's own store. Now the Apple's own store in offline asked me to wait 1 month because they had no ready pieces, an alternate to this was I made the purchases through Apple's Store App and basis the app purchase it gave me delivery on same day from the same Apple store where they din't sell me offline. Accordingly I made payment on Apple Store app & it asked me to collect on same day from Apple's own store (physical).

Since the payment transaction happened over on Apple Store app, the physical store could not do anything for me, as they are not the one to receive the funds.

Irrespective, I left the country & do not need anything now. The process is faulty maybe they need to find a fix.

Sorry for posting on wrong forum, kind of new here. Thanks though for the responses.

While processing the transaction in the store, you should have indicated that you want to receive the tax back.

You will then get a written statement for request refund paid tax, together with the invoice.

Then you can get the tax amount back at a special counter at the airport.

There is a chance that you will have to pay tax on arrival in your home country, depending on import duties and customs clearance costs.

To be sure, you should ask the store where you purchase the iPhone, how that works.

Rules are often changed.
