Diagonal scrolling is not working in Ventura

I use numbers with large tables scattered around so scrolling is essential ideally in every direction. Since the Ventura update on numbers I can't scroll diagonally using the trackpad only vertical and horizontal works. Anyone else is experiencing this or was is always the case and I'm only noticing now due to change of something else such as speed or fluidity?

I'm still on Monterey, running Numbers 12.2. I'd never noticed it before, but it does seem as if scrolling is limited to horizontal and vertical, though you can scroll in such small increments that it seems as if the motion is diagonal.

Same issue here! I'm not sure whether it came from the Ventura update or not. I only noticed it after working in Numbers for an hour. I updated a couple of days ago. Scrolling diagonally now feels very jagged and clunky, where it goes in steps between horizontal scroll and vertical scroll.

It was definitely not like this before. Usually it has always been a smooth diagonal scroll for me.

Is there possibly any settings for diagonal scrolling on trackpad? I haven't been able to find any.

Didn’t you say above that you’re not on Ventura? I suspect it is a problem stemming from the new updates.

The slight increase in lag is not really what’s bothering me. The lack of diagonal scrolling is what makes it way worse for spreadsheets.

I’m on a 16” MacBook Pro from 2019 currently, with newest software and numbers update.

The change in scrolling seems to have happened while I was using the speadsheet, so I’m wondering if it’s some weird glitch with the new Collaboration. The sheets I was using are all in iCloud. I restarted and all that, but the problem persists.

I’m now on Ventura, with no problems (that I notice anyway).

I haven’t used Collaboration, though. You might try a document with that turned off to see if that might be the problem.

I assume you have already done the usual, restarting Mac, inspecting trackpad controls, etc.

Once you think you have isolated the problem you can try reporting it to Apple via Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in your menu.
