gmail not sending to custom domain

Hi,

I have setup 2 custom domains in iCloud mail. Domain one is my default domain and is able to send emails to anywhere. It receives emails from everywhere except GMAIL address. There is no kick back email saying it was not delivered, the email just disappears.

Domain 2 has no issue sending and receiving from all domains. Seems to work perfect.

Any ideas why emails from GMAIL are not being delivered to my iCloud inbox?

Thank you

Brian

Hello otterdog33,

You've done a great job isolating the issue with your customer email domains. To confirm, have you noticed this issue with all Gmail accounts or one specific account? Also, have you checked to see if the emails being sent to the first domain from the Gmail account is being sent to the Spam or Junk email folders? If not, check those folders to help isolate the issue further. You may also find the steps listed below helpful in reaching a resolution.

  1. "Check the system status of iCloud Mail.
  2. Check that you turned on iCloud Mail:
    • On your Mac, open the Mail app then choose Mail >Preferences. Click Accounts, then select your iCloud account in the sidebar. Under Account Information, make sure that the account is turned on and the status is online.
    • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and check that Mail is turned on.

3.Make sure you that haven't exceeded your iCloud storage limit. If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, learn how to make more space available in iCloud

4.Make sure that you're using the latest version of software on your device. "

If you continue to have issues after completing these steps, you'll want to complete the remaining steps outlined in the following article. These steps are specific to resolving iCloud Mail issues.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for the reply. I finally received bounce back. "The MX host does not match any MX allowed by the STS policy". It turns out my previous mail setup (Mail-in-a-Box) was the culprit. The fix was a little more complex but I was able to get it working. I will include the post that helped me for other to refer to.

Thanks again
