Mail is not displaying message content

I have looked up previous reports of this but can't find an answer that works. Mail is randomly not showing the content of emails sent to me. I can see the email subject but there is just a blank screen instead of the content. It is starting to happen more and more often and is really annoying as then I have to go to Gmail to view the email. I don't have any antivirus software that could be blocking it.

Any suggestions?

The computer is updated to the latest Monterey 12.6
