My new Apple Watch band doesn't click in on one side

you should try to put the band on the other way. The same thing happens to someone I know. They got a Apple Watch and tried to put on the band. The band would not go in. If it does not work I would suggest contacting apple.

it's a machanical lock thing really

maybe the band is damaged or the lock in the apple watch case
