Apple Watch band won’t release when I push the button

I didn’t know about the button on the back of the watch to release the band, so initially I tried to “force” the band out of the slot (which of course didn’t work.) When I looked up how to do it and used the buttons one side slid out but the other side will not release and come off. Please help!
