The to retreave a deleted text instructions is not clear at all on how tp possibly get back. It says to hit the edit but there is no edit. You have the 3 dots and compose on the right and the left top is filters?

go to filter all it shows is
all messages
known senders
unknown senders
the rest is blank
Then there are no messages that were deleted after the phone was updated to iOS 16, as explained in the link that I posted.
