Deleted Text Messages Still Show in Preview

I have been deleting select text messages but what has been occurring is that the last text message deleted still shows on the text list previews. I would like the selected message to be completely deleted and no longer show the preview.

I just realized that if I delete any text message without an expression (i.e. liked, emphasized, etc.) it is deleted and removed from text Message previews. But If I delete any text message with an expression, the text message is deleted but "you liked..." shows in the Messages preview that references the deleted message. Hence, you can still see the deleted message.

Is this a bug or?

Deleting Messages in Preview:

What you are seeing are their own files --so you must delete them yourself.

Troubleshooting Lost Texts:

Recovering Deleted Messages:

What to Consider:

A. Start Here: Recover Deleted Text Messages On your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

B. Restore from Today's Backup:

Restore your iPhone from a backup of it that contains these messages, and you could recover them. Both that the backup must be of the same iOS version as what s currently installed.

C. Check Messages App:

If messages was enabled on your iPhone along with your Apple computer, then check and see if the Messages app is enabled on your Mac to see if it exists in it. You'd start up your Mac, not connecting to the Internet, and open the Massages app. Then proceed from there with retrieving it. Important: Be certain you do not connect to the Internet while booting up, as syncing would delete it. So, power off your router to avoid the connection.

Elsewise, if they're gone, they're gone. That's just the way it is :(
