Keyboard not loading for Safari links added to Home Screen

Has anyone found a fix for this? I've read other (closed) posts about this but no solution. iOS is most current version and followed all Apple's directions for saving a web site shortcut to the Home screen. I've found the only way to get the keyboard to show up again is to reboot the device or to open Safari app and type the URL instead of using the shortcut (does not always work). Have also added the same web site as a shortcut on the Home screen using CHROME and I don't get this same issue.

We understand your situation and how you are noticing an issue when using the onscreen keyboard in Safari.

Something like this could be related to your device attempting to use a connected accessory as the keyboard input. To confirm, do you have any external keyboards connected or wirelessly paired with your iOS device?

To isolate further, can you check if the issue persists when Bluetooth has been fully disabled in the iOS Settings app?

Turning Bluetooth off did not help. I still can't get the keyboard to pop-back up when it disappears. I've done considerable web searching and tried all the 'fixes' I can find and so far the only one that works is turning the device completely off then on again. Not a good resolution. Aside from that, I found a reference to Apple's keyboard only pops up when a text input field is active. Are there any reasons why a normally active text input field would turn inactive? Again, have searched the web and found nothing helpful.

No, there are no external keyboards even paired to the iPhone. When the issue occurs again (not consistent) I will turn off Bluetooth and check to see if that resolves the issue.
