Losing mail when moving from Junk to Inbox

Lately when I try to move multiple emails from Junk to my Inbox, they disappear. They’re not in Trash, they’re not in the Inbox; they’re gone.

I open Junk, click Edit, select the messages I want to move, and then choose “Move” and tell it “Move to Inbox”.

I’m on an IPhone 11 Pro, using iOS 15.6.1, and using Apple’s Mail app.

This is for my me.com account. I haven’t added or deleted any accounts in about a year.

I looked in all of my sub folders, both for the me.com account and for my work email, and none of the missing emails show up. I got two invoices from my friend’s business with identical subjects except for the order number, and the one which went to Junk is missing, while the other is in the Inbox - I’ve been using that for searches because I know the specific subject and when it was sent.
