File delay appears in finder after saving file

Bought a Macbook pro 13' M2 in August this year, but found that when using Illustrator, Photoshop or even word, powerpoint to save, the finder does not appear immediately.

But when using the software to save again, it will show that the file already exists.

My iCloud Drive is turned off, so it's not the delay caused by iCloud Drive.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Hello yitechiang,

If we understand correctly, when first trying to save your files from the apps mentioned above, the Finder is slow to respond. If that's right, these steps should help to narrow this down and resolve it:

  1. Check for available app updates as this can resolve many odd issues. For third-party apps, you'll want to check with the app developer. For apps downloaded from the App Store, this guide will help: Use the App Store to update apps on Mac - Apple Support
  2. Use the Activity Monitor to see if there are any processes happening at the same time that could be affecting the Finder. Here's how: Check if your Mac needs more RAM in Activity Monitor - Apple Support
  3. Do you have enough available storage? Being low on storage can cause slowness as well. Here's another great guide to help: Free up storage space on your Mac - Apple Support

Keep us posted on the results.

Take care!
