Macbook Pro M1 Max does not support 49" monitor on 5120x1440 resoluton
Hi,
I've just bought new 49" AOC AGON AG493UCX monitor that should support 5120x1440 resolution. I've tried to connect my Macbook Pro M1 Max 14" to that monitor but the maximal resolution Mac offers me is 3840x1080. Thats such a joke.
Few more additional information
- Mac is on the lastest MacOS version (monterey 12.6)
- I've read multiple issues from people with same situation that were created more than a year ago (!)
- I've tried to set refresh rate to 60 Hz
- I've changed the cable to brand new usb 40 gbps cable capable to transfer 8K resolution, none of the original one (from the monitor manufacturer) worked
- On my windows machine, everything works fine using the 5120x1440 resolution
Is this some kind of joke Apple can not solve this issue for a more than a few years? Even on high end machines that should be able to fullfill this monitor?
I would like to kindly ask apple support not to send me articles how to connect monitor to mac and other articles that are completely useless. I am fully capable to connect monitor to my Mac, the problem is mainly with resolution....
