Battery dies after 1 hour what's happening?

Starting at 100% charge indicated after about 1 hour use 75% indicated then phone shuts down and indicator is at 6%. What's going on?

iPhone 6s, iOS 14

Your iPhone is now over seven years old (if it’s a 6S). Batteries have finite lifespans.
