Let’s work to further isolate the situation. 

First, test to determine if this is happening in a specific app or with certain content. A good way to test is often just by attempting to mirror the Home Screen to see if from that particular place you’re able to get both audio and visual at the same time. 

Next, please unplug everything from your iPhone, restart your iPhone and then reconnect and test again. Restart your iPhone

If the content you mirror is typically streamed, can you test with downloaded content?

I was on the phone with Apple for 2 phone calls 3 hours total. On Paramount + the ads come through with no problem, but the video for shows is choppy with no sound. Same with Hulu - video for shows is choppy with no sound. The problem started with IOS16 and has persisted through all the updates to IOS 16 and all the updates to Paramount + and Hulu. Other people are having the same problem, according to an independent website. We live in the country without WiFi, and use our iPhones and the connector to show video on the big screen TVs. I tried 2 connectors including a new Apple branded one from a retailer 2 different TVs (2 brands), 2 different cables etc.
