In the Kindle app, you can highlight text then add a note to that highlighted section. In the note section, you can write your comment with your Apple Pencil and it will be converted from freehand to text. But it is not like writing in the margins of a paper book, if that is what you are asking.

Hello Gmgolfer,

To help better assist you, can you confirm if you're wanting to know if you can use Apple Pencil with the Kindle app on your iPad?

  1. If so, please review the link you came from, which outlines how to use Apple Pencil on iPad, and options: Use Apple Pencil with your iPad

Write with Apple Pencil

You can write a note with your Apple Pencil in Notes and other apps. With iOS 14 and later, you can write with your Apple Pencil in any text field.* You can convert your handwriting to text. And you can use a handwritten phone number, date, or address as if you had typed it.

2. If you have questions on compatibility, or need assistance with the Kindle app, we'd suggest reaching out to the developer for support. If you need help contacting the developer, this link has information that may be helpful: How to contact an app developer
