If your device has iOS 15.2 or later installed, check out this link→How to reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you forgot your passcode - Apple Support. Otherwise:

See this Apple support link→If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

Or watch this companion video ⬇️

After restoring the phone using one of the methods above you can restore your most recent backup.

Getting a Computer to See an iPhone:

A. Perform Updates:

Update your computer, along with iTunes. You should have the most-recent update installed.

B. Disable or Uninstall Security Software:

If using Security Software, of sorts, then temporarily disable it, as it may be being blocked out from been used on the port. If using a Mac, uninstall the Security Software, as it just gets in the way on a Mac, and this is a pure example of how and why.

C. Try Another Computer:

Connect this to another computer, and see where things go from there.
