How to get Navigation on Heads up display from Google Maps on BMW?

I just switched to Apple and found out that only Apple Maps shows the step by step direction on the heads up display on my BMW when connected via CarPlay. If I change the navigation app to Google Maps/Waze, the directions no longer show up on the HUD. Is there a way to enable this?

I'm using the CarPlay on my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple Maps Doesn't Show Next Turn on CarPlay I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.4.1. When I use CarPlay, the turn-by-turn navigation does not show the next turn. As you see in the image below, the display only shows a left turn in 1.1 miles. It does not show what that turn is or what will be next. Often, I need to turn somewhere immediately after the item, and want to know what that is. Fortunately, I wasn't driving so was able to see the directions on my phone. As you can see in the image below, I needed to turn left, then right within a third of a mile. Can you add this to the main screen?

Apple Maps shows Wrong Driving Direction How can I adjust the orientation for Apple Maps on CarPlay? For example, I’m driving straight down the road and Apple Maps shows me going from top to bottom. I want it to show my progress from bottom to top, meaning to show me going in the direction I am driving.

Well, Google owns Android, Waze and Google Maps. There just might be a connection there😏

That’s a question for Google, who owns both Google Maps and Waze.

Could be, but I was using an android device before, and both Google Maps and Waze showed directions on the HUD.
