How to fix my Studio Display stuck at the restore screen
My Studio Display doesn't work anymore. It shows the message: support.apple.com/display/restore and cant seem to get itself out of it. Its already running 15.5 and my mac studio is running OSX 12.6. The Mac Studio was running OSX 12.5 when the Studio Display stopped working.
What:
Boots to restore screen, tries to update but can't. Restore screen > update screen with three dots and text > single three dots > black screen > restore screen. This loop repeats after every reboot of the screen or when replugging the thunderbolt cable. Weird thing is: I am 99,9% sure I already installed 15.5 in early august, since it fixed the audio issues I was having during video-calls. There are no further updates since 15.5. Screen does get recognised when I check the thunderbolt connections: it clearly sees the Studio Display. But it doesn't recognise it as a display.
See the video I made about the problem:
When:
My monitor gave the restore message out of nowhere when powering up after 2 weeks without power when we were on holiday.
Things we tried:
Tried unplugging every device from both the monitor and mac studio, waiting 2 minutes, plugging the power and thunderbolt cable back into my mac studio. Tried everything on the restore page. And tried different ports on the display. Apple support doesn't know what the problem could be. They told me to go to a store, which I will do when I have time.
My question:
Anyone have any more tips? Maybe a way to force an update? Since I don't have an update message/request on my mac, my guess is it cant finish "something that isn't available" in the first place.
