GMail syncing issue

After upgrading to Monterey recently on my MacBook Air, I noticed that GMail mail deleted from my iPhone is still in my Gmail on my computer but when I delete mail from my computer they are deleted from my iPhone. This started after my upgrade. Any ideas how to resolve this? Apple Support told me it was a Gmail issues but there is no way to contact them. I tried for over an hour!
