iPhone 12 running 15.5, pink confetti, restart

Odd thing happened, on my home screen, there was a weird splash of pink/magenta artifacts that looked like square confetti, spread out around the screen. I went to take a screenshot, but the phone shut off, then restarted.

this is a replacement (refurbished) phone from my carrier for a warranty replacement.

no drop or water damage, but a very full storage (127g/128g)

anyone else experience this, and should I be concerned?

Hello SmellyToad,

Below is an article that will provide you steps to help fix the issue you are having with the phone.

Give those steps a try:

If your iOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly

Check your software
Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS or iPadOS and that your apps are up to date. If the issue continues after updating your software and apps, check your hardware.

Check your hardware
On an iPhone 6 or later, check your battery health under Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
If your battery doesn't need service, and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch continues to frequently restart or turn off, contact Apple Support.
If your apps quit unexpectedly, learn what to do.
If your device has a frozen screen, doesn't respond, or becomes stuck when you turn it on, learn what to do for iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.

Best Regards.
