Music app will not start up on my iMac (intel)

Tried restarting several times, but it just hangs. Any ideas why this is happening. Today is the first time this has ever happened?



iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.5

Thanks for the advice, but I had done that (not just restart). It took several restarts, quit apps and several reboots before the thing actually began to work. The advice on Apple Support cracks me. "In the preferences setting in the Music app…” or words to that effect. How are you supposed to do that if you can even get the app to work?


Finally, it is running. For now. Appreciate your help though.
