Logic not communicating correctly with Apollo

After executing a recent Mac OS update to Monterey version 12.5.1 (21G83) - done 4 days ago - my Apollo interface (Firewire model with optional Thunderbolt card installed) stoped working properly: lots of glitches, audio files sounding corrupted, weird sample rate readings and click going berserk… I had to cancel recording sessions because of that.

After following a long list of instructions kindly provided by Universal Audio support (re-installing UA software, re-setting Apollo, re-installing MacOs, and more…) and testing my Apollo with my MacBook Pro with the exact same OS and Logic versions (it works perfectly with the MacBook), I can only assume the problem resides either on the Logic software installed in my iMac (some corrupted file, perhaps?) or on the hard drive itself (although the interface works normally with other software).

Does anybody have a suggestion to make? Any help would be MUCH appreciated, as I'm loosing work because of this issue…

Thank you so much for your help - it’s deeply appreciated.

It turns out the problem was caused by the Fusion Drive on my iMac being too slow, and the RAM being somewhat insufficient. I installed MacOS Monterey on an external SSD, making it my startup volume, and added more RAM (to the maximum supported by my processor: 32GB). Now everything is running smoothly (I concluded the procedure yesterday, so the real test will be on today’s remote recording sessions I have booked 😉).

With power off on Apollo, remove two screws that holds the TB interface in.

Gently pull the card out a inch or two, then push back in. Don’t forget to install the two screws to support the interface card.

Launch Logic and pay attention to display on Apollo.

Look for host connection, and proper sync rate as selected by Logic within project

If that doesn't work, try using another TB cable if possible.
