I have been unable to edit location name in “Find my” app. When I change a location label for one of my family members that I follow the location label does not change. I have done it over and over for months and nothing has changed.

We advise working through the steps in this support article, which might help with this behavior: If Find My Friends isn't working - Apple Support, specifically the first 4 steps:
1. Make sure that you have the latest version of Find My Friends downloaded from the App Store, iOS 8 through 12 on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and watchOS 3 through 5 on your Apple Watch. If you have iOS 13 or later or watchOS 8 or later, use location sharing in the Find My app on iOS and Find People app on watchOS.
2. Check Find My on the System Status page for issues.
3. Force Find My Friends to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Wait a minute, then open the app again.
4. Use these steps if the app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open.

No that is not the problem. I share my location with members of my family and they share their location with me. I have some of their locations labeled with a “location name.” When I select “edit location name” within the “Find My” app, the location name doesn’t change. For instance if I had the location labeled as “Patti‘s house” And I want to change the label’s name to “Mike’s house” I can select it but it will not change the label. The person I follow will still be at the previous labels name “Patti‘s house.”
I have the most current version of the app. I tried forcing closing the app without success. It does not seem to be related to app system issues as it’s been going on for months. It’s only an issue with one person of the four people who share locations with me.
