Similar to this issue,
Unable to edit location name in Find My.a… - Apple Community
For my friends / family, I can set the Location Name in iOS, iPadOS ... but it's not working in macOS (Monterey, and now Ventura). Is this a known issue (and with a known fix)?

Those steps did not - and even more interesting ... I can set Location Names in macOS => they then show up in iOS, iPadOS, but not macOS.
