Rest my computer now it wont work

I rest my computer because i was going to sell it now it wont work. Every time i want to redownload OS it should i dont have enough memory

Did you erase the whole drive?

My computer says it’s gonna take 7 hours to reinstall the OS, is this normal? I had to reinstall my OS because my system data was taking up more than half of my storage. When the OS started reinstalling, it started at about 2 hours remaining and then 10 minutes later it went up to 7 hours. This feels really long for something like this and I wanted to know if this is normal or should I stop it and start over?

Storage help. Trying to update but no room for update. Okay so I'm currently trying to update my computer however there seem to be storage issues. Right now the OS installer is taking up 14 GB and then the 'System' is taking up 70 GB. Is there any way for me to free up space from the system and use that for the OS? It seems stupid to me that there is all that GB volume that is effectively untouchable. Im just trying to run a new program that needs the newer software. I am currently running macOS Mojave
