Iphone12 plus

How can I keep my phone from going dark? When, either I’m outside and it’s bright or when I’ve been on it to long? Possible battery save mode. I’ve turned everything off and the screen will still go dark.

When the phone gets hot, the screen will automatically dim to try to cool itself down.
